– 구미진 심사위원장 “매월 정기검정, ‘기준의 일관성’이 신뢰를 만든다”
메디필라테스얼라이언스(MPA필라테스)가 1월 24일 정기총회에서 2026년 정기 자격검정을 총괄할 ‘당해심사위원장’ 6인을 위촉했다고 밝혔다. 이번 위촉은 구미진 심사위원장(경남 고성 ‘요가인디아&필라테스’ 원장)이 주관했으며, 협회는 “심사 운영을 개인 역량이 아니라 시스템으로 관리하는 단계형 심사 체계”를 한층 강화하는 계기로 평가했다.
MPA필라테스는 2006년부터 지도자 양성을 이어온 국내 장수 필라테스 협회로, 전국 공인 교육관 네트워크를 기반으로 동일 커리큘럼과 평가 프로토콜을 적용하는 표준 교육·표준 검정 체계를 운영해 왔다. 협회 관계자는 “자격 과정이 많아질수록 수강생이 묻는 질문은 결국 하나로 수렴한다. ‘검정이 공정하고 동일 기준으로 운영되는가’”라며 “당해심사위원장 제도는 그 질문에 대한 협회의 답”이라고 설명했다.
당해심사위원장은 매월 실시되는 필라테스 정기 자격검정에서 심사 운영을 진두지휘하는 핵심 책임자다. 단순한 채점자가 아니라, 심사 당일 운영 프로토콜 점검, 평가 항목 적용의 일관성 확보, 심사위원·서브심사위원 역할 배치, 현장 이슈 대응, 심사 결과 기록·보고까지 ‘검정의 품질관리’를 총괄한다. MPA필라테스는 이 제도를 통해 “교육관이 달라도 기준은 동일해야 한다”는 원칙을 검정 운영 전 과정에 반영해 왔다.
MPA필라테스의 심사위원 조직은 △당해심사위원장 △심사위원 △서브심사위원으로 구성된다. 매년 심사위원 교육을 이수한 자만 심사에 참여할 수 있으며, 교육 이수 후 서브심사 2회 이상 참석하면 정식 심사위원으로 활동할 수 있다. 서브심사위원은 심사 현장에 참여하되 채점은 반영되지 않는 구조로, 평가 기준과 운영 흐름을 충분히 익히도록 설계된 단계다. 협회는 “심사위원으로 3년 이상 꾸준히 참여한 인원 중에서 당해심사위원장을 위촉한다”는 원칙을 운영하며, 이는 곧 ‘경험의 축적’이 ‘기준의 안정’으로 이어지도록 만든 장치라는 설명이다.
이번 정기총회에서 구미진 심사위원장이 위촉한 2026 당해심사위원장 6인은 다음과 같다. 손아리겸 원장(강원 삼척·동해 ‘마인필라테스’), 구도희 원장(경기 고양 ‘디 필라지오’), 김윤혜 원장(광주 상무지구 ‘아워필라테스’), 송영옥 원장(청주 ‘타요가앤필라테스’), 임혜경 원장(대구 현풍 ‘림필라테스&번지’), 김한나 원장(구미 ‘레나엘필라테스’) 원장이다. 협회는 권역별로 심사 운영 책임자를 고르게 배치함으로써 지역별 검정 운영 편차를 줄이고, 응시자가 어느 지역에서 검정을 치르더라도 동일한 기준과 절차가 적용되도록 한다는 방침이다.
구미진 심사위원장은 메디필라테스얼라이언스(MPA필라테스) 설립 초기부터 임원으로 협회 운영에 참여해 온 인물로, 현장 운영과 기준 정비를 함께 수행해 왔다. 또한 사단법인 한국치유요가협회(Korea Therapy Yoga Association, KTYA) 등기이사로도 활동 중이다. 협회 측은 “구 심사위원장은 심사의 핵심을 ‘통과율’이 아니라 ‘지도 역량의 표준화’로 보는 관점이 분명하다”며 “심사 운영에서 가장 중요한 ‘용어의 통일, 기준의 일관성, 기록의 정확성’을 끝까지 지키는 사람”이라고 평가했다.
MPA필라테스는 당해심사위원장 위촉의 의미를 “자격증을 시험으로 끝내지 않기 위한 장치”로 정의한다. 협회 관계자는 “현장에서 통하는 지도자는 동작을 외우는 사람이 아니라, 왜 필요한지 설명하고 안전하게 적용할 수 있는 사람”이라며 “심사 체계는 그 ‘설명 가능한 지도 역량’을 검증하는 마지막 관문이자, 교육 품질을 지키는 인프라”라고 말했다. 특히 매월 정기검정 운영은 검정이 단발성 이벤트로 흐르지 않도록 하고, ‘상시 품질관리’로 기능하도록 만든 구조라는 점에서 교육관과 강사들이 체감하는 신뢰 장치로 꼽힌다.
김성원 MPA필라테스 협회장은 “검정의 신뢰는 공지 문구가 아니라 운영에서 증명된다”며 “2026년에는 당해심사위원장 제도를 중심으로 심사 교육–서브심사–심사위원–당해심사위원장으로 이어지는 성장형 심사 체계를 더 촘촘히 고도화하겠다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “기준이 흔들리지 않을 때 교육관이 성장하고, 강사의 전문성이 보호된다. MPA필라테스는 표준 교육과 표준 검정으로 ‘현장에서 재현 가능한 자격’의 가치를 계속 증명해 나가겠다”고 덧붙였다.

Chair Gu Mi-jin: “Monthly Regular Examinations—Consistency of Standards Builds Trust”
Medifilates Alliance (MPA Pilates) announced that it appointed six Chairs of the Annual Examination Committee who will oversee the 2026 certification examinations, during its regular general assembly held on January 24. The appointments were led by Chair Gu Mi-jin (Director of Yoga India & Pilates in Goseong, Gyeongnam). The association evaluated this move as a significant step toward further strengthening its “tiered examination system,” which manages assessment operations through institutional systems rather than individual discretion.
MPA Pilates is one of Korea’s longest-standing Pilates associations, having trained instructors continuously since 2006. Based on a nationwide network of accredited training centers, the association has operated a standardized education and examination system, applying identical curricula and evaluation protocols across all regions. An MPA official explained, “As certification programs expand, candidates ultimately ask one core question: ‘Is the examination conducted fairly and under consistent standards?’ The Annual Examination Committee Chair system is our answer to that question.”
The Annual Examination Committee Chair is the key person responsible for directing the monthly Pilates certification examinations. The role goes far beyond scoring; it encompasses comprehensive quality control of the examination process, including inspection of on-site operating protocols, ensuring consistency in the application of evaluation criteria, assignment of examiners and sub-examiners, handling on-site issues, and overseeing the recording and reporting of examination results. Through this system, MPA Pilates has embedded its principle—“Standards must remain the same regardless of training center”—throughout the entire examination process.
MPA Pilates’ examiner organization consists of three levels: Annual Examination Committee Chair, Examiner, and Sub-Examiner. Only individuals who complete annual examiner training are eligible to participate in examinations. After completing the training and attending at least two examinations as a sub-examiner, one may serve as a full examiner. Sub-examiners participate in examinations without their scores being reflected in results, a structure designed to allow them to fully learn evaluation standards and operational flow. The association appoints Annual Examination Committee Chairs from among examiners who have participated consistently for at least three years, ensuring that accumulated experience translates into stable and reliable standards.
At this year’s general assembly, Chair Gu Mi-jin appointed the following six individuals as 2026 Annual Examination Committee Chairs:
- Son Ari-gyeom, Director of Mind Pilates (Samcheok & Donghae, Gangwon)
- Gu Do-hee, Director of The Pilagio (Goyang, Gyeonggi)
- Kim Yun-hye, Director of Our Pilates (Sangmu District, Gwangju)
- Song Young-ok, Director of Ta Yoga & Pilates (Cheongju)
- Lim Hye-kyung, Director of Lim Pilates & Bungee (Hyeonpung, Daegu)
- Kim Han-na, Director of Renael Pilates (Gumi)
By evenly distributing examination leadership across regions, the association aims to minimize regional discrepancies and ensure that candidates are evaluated under the same standards and procedures regardless of where they take the examination.
Chair Gu Mi-jin has been involved in MPA Pilates since its early days, serving as an executive member and contributing to both on-site operations and the establishment of examination standards. She also serves as a registered director of the Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA). The association commented, “Chair Gu has a clear philosophy that the core of examinations lies not in pass rates, but in the standardization of teaching competence. She is a person who consistently upholds the unification of terminology, consistency of standards, and accuracy of records—elements that are most critical in examination operations.”
MPA Pilates defines the significance of appointing Annual Examination Committee Chairs as “a mechanism to ensure that certification does not end with a single test.” An association representative stated, “An instructor who truly performs in the field is not someone who merely memorizes movements, but someone who can explain why a movement is needed and apply it safely. The examination system is the final gateway that verifies this ‘explainable teaching competence’ and serves as the infrastructure that safeguards educational quality.” Monthly regular examinations, in particular, prevent certification from becoming a one-off event and instead function as a system of continuous quality control—earning strong trust from training centers and instructors alike.
MPA Pilates President Kim Sung-won said, “Trust in examinations is not proven by written announcements, but through actual operation. In 2026, we will further refine our growth-oriented examiner system—from examiner training to sub-examiner, examiner, and Annual Examination Committee Chair.” He added, “When standards remain unwavering, training centers grow and instructors’ professionalism is protected. Through standardized education and standardized examinations, MPA Pilates will continue to demonstrate the value of certifications that are truly reproducible in real teaching environments.”
