The Medi-Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates) successfully concluded its 2026 Annual General Meeting on January 24 at the Daejeon Training Center, where it shared performance outcomes from its nationwide education-center operations and presented the 2025 Outstanding Education Center Awards. The meeting was widely viewed as a reaffirmation of MPA Pilates’ competitiveness, grounded in its system of standardized education, certification, and post-qualification growth support.

Founded in 2006, MPA Pilates is a leading Pilates association in Korea with a long-standing commitment to instructor development. Centered on a nationwide network of accredited education centers, the association has built a standardized system that applies uniform curricula and evaluation protocols. Going beyond simple certification, MPA Pilates manages education-center operational quality through data-driven benchmarks and has accumulated expertise in “field-reproducible instructor education,” regarded as one of its core strengths.
In addition, after completion of certification programs, instructors are provided with sequence materials and functional anatomy learning content for a designated period. Through linkage with the YO&P Membership, they can also expand into advanced professional completion programs at no additional cost—an advantage that education centers and instructors alike identify as a key competitive differentiator.

The 2025 Grand Prize for Outstanding Education Center was awarded to The Elle Pilates Doan Branch in Daejeon. The center was recognized for its operational excellence in consistently integrating standardized mat- and apparatus-based curricula into real-world class structures. The center director, Juhyun Song, was inaugurated at the General Meeting as Vice President of the Medi-Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates) and Regional Chair for the Central–Gangwon Region, for a three-year term. The association explained that her appointment was based on a comprehensive evaluation of her instructional expertise, ability to standardize education-center operations, and contributions to the association. With an experienced, field-based education-center director leading regional operations, expectations are high that regional disparities in educational quality will be reduced and the execution of standardized operations further strengthened.

The Outstanding Education Center Award was also presented to Daom Pilates Yoga, Hyundai Department Store Branch in Ulsan. Its director, Shinjeong Kang, was reappointed as Auditor of the Medi-Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates), once again recognizing her contributions to organizational stability and network expansion. Kang also serves as President of the K-Wall International Alliance (K-WIA), Chair of the RYTK300+ Yoga Examiner Committee at the Korea Therapy Yoga Association (KTYA), and a Board Member of the International Association of Integrative Therapy (IAIT). Her extensive experience spanning Pilates, yoga, wall-based training, and academic networks is widely regarded as a practical asset in fulfilling her auditing role within the association.

Another Outstanding Education Center honoree was Reels Pilates in Gwangju. Its director, Jayeon Choi, was appointed Chair of External Cooperation for the Medi-Pilates Alliance (MPA Pilates), where she will oversee network expansion and external partnership development. Choi has demonstrated consistently strong operational performance, earning Outstanding or Grand Prize recognition on multiple occasions, and was selected as one of the IAIT 100 Therapists. She was also named a 2025 bestselling author by Shanti Story Publishing, drawing attention as a representative example of an “AI-era professional expertise model” that expands hands-on instructional experience into content creation and publishing.

Through this General Meeting, MPA Pilates reaffirmed its principle that “education centers are the face of the association” and announced plans to further strengthen an integrated operational strategy connecting standardized education, standardized certification, post-training growth support, media, publishing, and academic networks. Association President Sungwon Kim stated, “A certification is not completed when an exam is passed—it is only completed when it is realized in real classes afterward. Recognizing outstanding education centers and appointing executive leaders is a way of sharing the message across our national network that education centers which uphold standards ultimately achieve growth.”

Looking ahead to 2026, MPA Pilates plans to further enhance regular training programs and regional operational systems for education centers, while continuing to expand a ‘Professional Insight Network’ that links research, academic publications, publishing, and media. Through this ecosystem, the association aims to provide a sustainable foundation for Pilates instructors to grow beyond teaching roles and establish themselves as recognized professionals.
